Respiratory physiotherapy sessions are systematic when the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis has been made. They are therefore an integral part of the daily life of patients throughout their lives. The goal is to drain the excess mucus trapped in the bronchi and expectorate the mucus to feel less crowded and limit secondary infections, because the bacteria grow easily. It is these bacteria that destroy the lungs. One session lasts an average of half an hour. Their rhythm depends on the age of the patient, the infant to the adult, and its clinical condition. In times of superinfection, two sessions a day may be necessary.
